Dr. Amanda LaPlante

Dr. Aaron Florkowski, MD, aka Dr. F

dr-florkowskiDr. Aaron Florkowski is a board certified eye surgeon. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology as well as the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. Dr. F has been in practice for more than 10 years and has performed thousands of refractive procedures. He has extensive experience in LASIK, LASEK, PRK, and Refractive Cataract Surgery and has been honored as being one of the Top 50 Refractive Surgeons in the United States for his surgical expertise and high volume of refractive surgery.

A medical graduate of the University of Missouri in Kansas City, Dr. Florkowski, aka Dr. F, was honored with membership in the Alpha Omega Alpha Society; an honor given only to top medical students. Subsequently, Dr. F completed an internal medicine internship at St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City, MO.

His ophthalmic surgical training was completed at the prestigious Eye Foundation of Kansas City, where the initial clinical trials for the excimer laser in the United States were conducted. During his medical training he was actively involved in research and has had several articles published.

Dr. F enjoys helping his patients free themselves from glasses and contact lenses and is a LASIK patient himself.

Dr. Amanda LaPlante, OD,

Amanda LaplanteDr. Amanda LaPlante completed her clinical externships at the W.J.B. Dorn VAMC in Columbia, SC; Fort Knox Army Community Hospital in Fort Knox, Kentucky; and Jesse Brown VAMC in Chicago, IL. She achieved her Doctorate from Indiana University School of Optometry, Bloomington, IN. Subsequently, she completed a year residency at the Robert J.y Dole VAMC in Wichita, KS.

While at Indiana University, Amanda received various awards and honors. Her peers chose her as the recipient of the Dr. Henry Hofstetter Scholarship Award for outstanding leadership and service to class. She also was a Gold Key International Optometric Honor Society Member for her outstanding leadership and service. In April 2011, the Indiana Optometric Association presented her with the Dr. Jack Bennett Humanitarian Award in recognition of her distinguished service to humanity and the profession of optotmetry.

One of Amanda’s passions is participating in eye care mission trips to poverty stricken countries. She also enjoys a friendly round of disc golf or relaxing on the lake with her family and fiancĂ©, Kevin. Amanda and Kevin also enjoy visiting vineyards to gain more knowledge on the wine-making process.
